Our new placeAs you can see, the new place is still in a form of disarray. At least we got most of our moving boxes cleared out. Some guy from CL was nice enough to take them off our hands for us.

The dining room is small and cozy. I really like the wall-mounted shelves scattered throughout the house, even though the BF doesn’t. They’re probably not strong enough for hardcover books, but I like them to put knick-knacks like picture frames and small cacti on. Maybe I’ll feel different once the dust settles in and I have to dust over them.

Our new placeOur new bathroom is certainly smaller than our old one, but has a lot of character — the good kind. There isn’t any type of cabinet space or drawers, but I moved one of my plastic container drawer things in there which works fine. I really like the over-toilet mounted shelf thing. It’s perfect for small bottles of lotion and my one bottle of perfume.

The best part about the bathroom is the shower over the bath-tub. After two-plus years of crappy water pressure, the pressure in the new shower is something I don’t take for granted. The fact that it’s super tall is nice too. Since I’m all tall and stuff.

I also like that there’s a sun roof directly over the bathroom. It makes taking showers during the day feel nice.

Herb windowbox

My absolutely favorite part of the house is the windowbox in the kitchen. It’s south-facing, so it gets tons of light, which is great for herbs like basil and mint, two things I love to grow. From left to right, I have purple shiso, garlic chives, lettuce leaf basil, and some Mexican herb I can’t remember the name of but tastes slightly like parsley. I can’t wait for the leaves of these plants to grow out. The window would look great with all the lush green, fragrant leaves.

Happy Housewarming! And if we’re talking about the pot on the right, it looks like epazote.

Good eye! That’s exactly what it is: epazote. Thanks for the house warming wishes =)

I am so envious of your windowbox! You really scored with your place. I want to try my hand at growing herbs, but there aren’t any suitable places inside my apt.
