Stripper Cake
Stripper Cake Originally uploaded by PrincessPeach

I helped a friend build a stripper cake last night. It’s the cake that a stripper jumps out of, not a cake in the shape of a stripper, just to clear up any confusion.

It went better than I thought considering neither of us has any experience building a stripper cake. The hardest part was not having a box cutter, so we had to cut a lot of cardboard with scissors. Ouch.

Oh yeah, glue-guns are great. I don’t know how I went without one for so long.

wow, I think you need to post a picture of this when you decorate it! the idea of making a stripper cake has never occurred to me before, I wish I had an opportunity to try it.

Did you finish this cake? I’m doing research on how to build one and frankly, there isn’t a whole lot to find. This will be a main prop to a play that I’m helping to put on…. What you’ve built looks perfect – Is there a final photo? Any tips/advice?

Yes, we finished the cake and my friend said it looked pretty good, but alas, no pictures. He used a matte paint to paint over the cardboard, and then used fake flowers to cover up any glue/cardboard parts that made it look too shabby.

One word of advice: Get a decent box cutter. Trying to cut through tons of cardboard with scissors hurts!
