Sephora Sun Safety Kit

Thanks to Qeeper, I ordered a Sephora Sun Safety Kit. It’s getting close to summer, so I figured it’s about time I stocked up on some sun screen. I’m also getting a bit bored of my usual moisturizer.

When the kit arrived today, I was a bit disappointed in it. The samples were small, which is understandable since they’re samples and all, but the bag that comes with it is pretty flimsy. It’s a step up from your average ziplock sandwich bag, but the locking mechanism broke the third time I used it.

The sample I was most excited about was the Tarte 24/7 lip sheer. I love lip gloss, lip balms, chapsticks, and everything in between and I’ve been looking for one with an SPF after I realized my beloved Dr. Pepper lip balm doesn’t have any. The sample is the Thursday color, which looked pretty good with my pale Asian/programmer complexion. It’s a nice pink color that makes my lips look flushed without looking like I’m about to go out to the night club. It goes on thicker than I thought, considering it’s a lip sheer and it doesn’t last 24/7, but it did feel moisturizing and my lips weren’t dry after the color rubbed off.

I also tried Korre’s Watermelon Sunscreen (spf 30) today because I can’t resist watermelon. It’s a lot thicker than the daily moisturizer + sunscreen I’m used to and the watermelon smell doesn’t smell like fresh watermelon like I wanted. It felt a bit greasy on my face after I put it on but it didn’t make my face shiny like I was afraid it would. After an hour or so, I could still feel it on my skin; it’s a bit too thick for every-day wear.
