Indian Restaurant

The BF @ Indian Bar
Indian Restaurant is also known as “Asian Hooters.” The interior is loosely Native American themed with fake trees and heads of dead animals on the wall, but one of the best things about the place (other than the food) are the waitresses. They wear a headband with a feather in it, short-shorts, Ugg boots, and a tool-belt as their Indian costume. Not very PC, but fun nonetheless. You can see part of the waitress outfit on the girl on the right of the picture above.

House Spicy Noodles @ Indian
We mainly come here for the food and this night, the BF was craving the House Spicy Noodles. They’re clear, chewy noodles covered in a spicy and peppery-numbing sauce.

Heartless Vegetables @ Indian
We also ordered Heartless Vegetables. I don’t know the official English name for them, but in Chinese they’re called either ong chai or kong shing chai which loosely translates to “hollow heart vegetable”. They’re called that because the stem is hollow.

3 types of meat braised claypot @ Indian
I also had a 3-types of braised meat claypot which was delicious. The pot covered all 3 types of meat: flying, swimming, and land meat. There were pieces of chicken, which kind of fly, cuttlefish, and some delicious pork pieces that tasted like marrow, but were soft and chewy.

Even though Indian’s decorations are kind of gimmicky, the place surprisingly serves delicious food. Just make sure to order a beer to make the wait for food more pleasant.

That looks good! I love Indian food… but I think the furthest I’ve gone is the good old curry, butter chicken and naan bread. MMmm. I’ve gotta get out more, but Boyfriend doesn’t like Indian food. =(

Katy, Indian isn’t Indian food… it’s Taiwanese food in a Native American themed restaurant.

Taiwanese in a Native American themed restaurant. That ain’t right.

Peach – I accidentally found a great vegetarian Taiwanese restaurant in Arcadia just around the corner from the hotel where I stay when I’m out that way on business.

    It’s called Bean Sprouts.

Would you and the BF like to join me there for dinner next time I’m out? Should be June or July, I think.
