I love it when everything goes right in a day. First off, the weather was beautiful today. Clear skies, warm, sunny, I even broke out the shants and sandals to wear.

I had a delicious lunch at a sushi place I discovered by work. There was a little hitch in plans going there because the on-ramp to the 405N was blocked off and my coworkers and I ended up going in a big circle just to get to the restaurant, but it was well worth it.

I was surprised how many people were eating lunch there today. I went the same time last week and there was only one other person there, which meant I pretty much had the chef’s undivided attention when he wasn’t filling to-go orders.

Today was a different story. He was busy with a group that had come in before us, but still made time to squeeze in our orders once in a while. I didn’t think he was taking that long, but he ended up apologizing and giving us a few dishes on the house for being so patient. Yay for free sushi. I’m not a big spicy tuna fan, but he makes this great spicy tuna thing on top of crispy rice. Everyone that I’ve seen try it loves it.

I tried to get one of my co-workers to try an uni roll I had, but he was not a fan. The chef also admitted that he didn’t particularly care for uni either. In his words, “It’s like salty whipped cream.” I didn’t like it until recently, but now I have to order it whenever I eat sushi.

And to top off the day, I picked Patapon up from Best Buy on the way home.
