Tofu Ya

I went to Tofu Ya for dinner last night. It’s not bad for soon tofu on the west side. We even got asked if we wanted a pan-chan refill without having to ask for it ourselves.

The pan-chan consists of (going clockwise from 12 o’ clock): jap chae (yam noodles), bean sprouts salad, kim chi, fish cake, and pickled cucumbers. The bean sprouts tasted a bit funny this time, but usually they’re good. The kim chi was also better than I remembered. The best of the bunch was the jap chae though.

The main event. I got beef and seafood soon tofu. The seafood portion consists of shrimp and clams or oysters (I can’t tell them apart). The broth was especially good today.

Wow, I love soon tofu. I could eat it everyday if I didn’t have so many other soups that i enjoy eating. Your close up picture of all the pickles make me salivate! And look at that egg yolk on top of the soup! OMG!
