Rainbow Sandals

rainbow sandalsOn my trip to Santa Barbara, I remembered that I wanted a pair of Rainbow Sandals. What better place to get sandals than the beach town of Santa Barbara?

When I first heard about these sandals, I thought they were ridiculously overpriced. Forty-something dollars for a pair of flip-flops? Outrageous. Then, I started reading about how people have been wearing their first pair for years and how they practically mold to your feet.

Considering I buy about $10 worth of sandals a year (cheap ones from Old Navy) and they wear out that same year, I figured, maybe I should look into these guys.

I got a pair of the medium brown ones with the thick strap at some store in downtown Santa Barbara. It’s a women’s model, which looks a bit strange because the heel end of the sole seems really skinny, but I have fairly medium-width feet and they fit me fine.

The first time I put these sandals on, it was like the sandals were giving me a hug. They’re still a bit hard and I’ve read it takes a few weeks to break them in before they get super comfortable, so I won’t say more about the comfort.

It still seems like a lot to pay for the sandal, but at least it comes with a warantee for the lifetime of the sole, so if the strap comes off or something, I can always send it back for a new pair.
