Oh yeah, I got a new job

I made a card out of the picture above and gave it to my boss at my old job as a formal two week resignation letter. He thought it was hilarious. The HR lady said it was great as well. I’m glad to give them something funny to staple to the end of my file.
I just finished my third week at my new job and I think I’m finally getting settled in. The first week was hard because I didn’t really know anyone and I think the guys I work with were a bit cautious about me because I’m the only girl on the team. But now, some of them are harassing me as if I were one of the guys, which is great.
The first week was also hard because I was so used to everything at my old job. I was used to having my computer set up the way I wanted, having my e-mail folders and filters set up perfectly, having all my macros and color codes in my editor of choice (EMACS!!), and most of all, I was too used to having a lot of idle time. That was one of the reasons I quit my old job — it just got too boring.
Now, I actually have work to do and I know it sounds cheesy, but learning stuff at work is rewarding and I feel productive. It took me a whole day to get comfortable developing in a windows environment, but now I think I’m at least 75% at home with it. I just wish windows had a way to support sloppy focus on the mouse cursor or at least auto-copying highlighted stuff into the clipboard.
I don’t want to say too much else about my new job because I’m sure some nosy people at work will find this post if they haven’t already. *glare* I know who you are.
