Nikon D40

Nikon D40
I’ve been wanting an SLR for a while and a digital SLR means not having to worry about developing film. Everyone said that the Nikon D40 was one of the best beginner’s SLRs around for the price, so I looked into it and decided to get one. Luckily, Ritz Cameras was having a Thanksgiving weekend sale and I got a pretty good deal on it: the body, two lenses, two kind of useless DVDs about how to use it, and even a case for all the parts for less than it would cost to get them separately.

I spent most of yesterday night reading the manual and messing around with it. I was worried that this was going to be another one of my gadget-lust purchases where I would be excited about buying it, but then disappointed with the actual product. Fortunately, that’s not the case.

This camera takes fantastic pictures. I’m still pretty newb with all the functions, but so far, it’s everything I was hoping it would be.

Yay early Christmas present for myself.

thanks for your input :) i’m glad that the camera seems to live up to the hype…i’m pretty sure i’m going to get one in the near future (sometime next year most likely…or after i’m done xmas shopping at least).
