After a weekend full of festivities and too much drinking, I was craving something simple, cold and refreshing for dinner and this is what I came up with.

  • Hiyakko tofu topped with green onions, fried red onions, soy sauce, and natto (mixed in with spicy mustard, wasabi, and more soy sauce).
  • Soba dipped in a sauce made out of ponzu, mirin, the white part of green onions, and some water to mellow it out.
  • Cucumber salad dressed with rice vinegar and sesame seeds
  • Salted edamame.
  • (not in the picture) A tall refreshing glass of home made mint lemonade with plenty of ice.

Not a bad dinner for such a hot day. The only thing that was missing was a nice ice cold slice of watermelon.
