I’m tired of having so much junk and not knowing what to do with it. From now on, other than the essentials — food, soap, shampoo, etc., I’m not going to buy anything else. I recently bought some new shoes (red Converse shoes* if you must know), a belt, and a nano and I think I’m set for the year. I can’t really think of anything else I really need.

“Oh noes, but what about games?” you ask?

Well, despite my objections to game rental places, I signed up for GamezNFlix. Not having tons of game boxes pile up and not buying games I only play through once for a few hours outweighs my moral objection about renting games. Considering that I still get free review copies, I’m hoping not buying games will cut down on shelf space in my room too.

* It took me a while to finally buy those shoes. At first, I saw them in store, but didn’t like the double-tongue action going on in there, as good as it sounds. It seems so silly and superfluous. I just wanted regular Converse shoes like the ones I had as a kid! Unfortunately, the regular Converse shoes didn’t come in that rust-red color. Since those exact shoes were on sale at Zappos and there’s free shipping both ways and no tax, I jumped on those shoes. This may sound like a commercial, but two of the best things about Zappos is that there’s free shipping both ways and I don’t have to pay tax.

Free shipping both ways means that if I’m debating between two shoe sizes, I can order both, try them both on, then send the pair that doesn’t fit back to them, free of charge!

I always thought Zappos had fast shipping, but oh man, the shipping speed for these shoes were unbelievable. I ordered them around 4pm on a Thursday and they came the next day! I was looking at the tracking info and one section said the delivery left Kentucky at 3:30am and arrived in California 4:45am. How is that even possible?

I miss working at Hollywood vid. because I was able to rent games for free.
That came in really handy because games I really wanted to buy I would rent it to see if it’s worth buying. Most of the time I was disappointed and/or finished the game quickly. That saved me a lot of money because they were free to rent and I didn’t pay $50/$20 for a game I didn’t like.
I did end up buying the games I did like, though…
