Yay for Fall

Something about Fall makes me feel nostalgic in a comforting way. Walking outside in the morning when it’s chilly, but still sunny reminds me of being back in highschool and standing outside chatting with friends during nutrition break.

Now that it’s Fall, all my favorite shows are starting their new season. I thought I was excited about Grey’s Anatomy, but it pales in comparison to last night’s episode of Lost. I wasn’t looking forward to Lost, knowing the spoiler about what The Numbers mean already, but this season’s first show hooked me in again. It seems to focus mostly on The Others and while the previous seasons weren’t exactly sunflowers and butterflies, this season seems a lot darker. There’s a sense of dread in The Others’ voices whenever they talk to the Losties.

Fall also brings a flood of quality games competing for self space. I got Okami, which is beautiful, but I lost interest in playing it as soon as I bought Valkyrie Profile 2. I still can’t believe they made a sequel. The first game seemed so unpopular before the “OMG, it’s rare, let’s sell it on Ebay for $180!” that I doubted anyone would be interested in investing money to make a sequel. I’m still pretty early in the game, but so far, it still has the same feel as the first one, but with a few changes like a more complex skill system and the ability to move around during battles.

The Wii is going to be released in a few weeks and while I’m excited about it, I’m still debating on whether to get it or not. There hasn’t been any issue about overheating or crashing, like there was with the 360 and the PS3, but still, I don’t know if I want to pay the “early adopters” tax, but I don’t know if I can wait till a price drop. I guess I should just save my money and finish my backlog of PS2 games as well as the new ones coming out for DS (Hello Contact, Hello FF3!) and use the money to buy a new bed. I think it’s time for me to get a grown-up bed.

I bought new lip balm to get ready for the cold winter months and I love the color I got. I’ve always been a fan of Burt’s Bees lip balms, so I was already going to buy a stick of it. I didn’t really like the watermelon color they had, so I decided to go with rhubarb instead and it’s perfect. It’s not as shimmery as watermelon, so it still looks natural, and it’s a little more red, so you look like you’ve just been hit in the mouth, but in a good way. I’m going to make it my carry-everywhere lip balm.
