My Wallet Is Crying

Looks like the summer slump is over for gaming: lots of good upcoming releasing in the next two months. I purchased Shadow of the Colossus and Disgaea 2 over the weekend. I felt on the fence about Disgaea 2, not becuase it’s not a good game, it probably is a fantastic game, but because I didn’t finish 1 yet. So much for my not buying games till I beat the ones I’m currently playing. I was just scared that there will never be a price drop or that it’ll get as rare as the first one, so I figured I better get it on sale for $39.99 instead of getting it a few months later at the “omg rare!” price of $90 or something more.

So far, the PS2 agenda is:

  • finish Disgaea 1
  • give Yakuza a spin

And for the DS:

  • get Mario 3 on 3 in English so I can actually read the menu
  • Starfox - who doesn’t like a good space opera?
  • Harvest Moon DS - Not sure about this one, since I’ve never played other HM games
  • Cooking Mama in English - now I can find out what I’m cooking

Let me know what you think of Yakuza, as a fan of Shenmue (even though I’ve only played the first one) it looks very interesting to me.

And I totally agree on Cooking Mama, I gave up after I couldn’t get past training mode, since normal mode seemed too similar to training mode AND I wasn’t able to figure out what dishes I was selecting.

Mario 3 on 3, is it worth it?

In the meantime, I’ve just ordered Me & My Katamari for the PSP (and Lumines 2 on pre-order) and I’m waiting for a price drop on Loco Roco.

I haven’t played Mario 3 on 3 for a few weeks because I got frustrated with the Final Fantasy team. They’re just so incredibly hard to beat, especially with my no-good teammates that I put it down to play something else and never picked it up again. I would say it’s worth it if you have someone who is willing to play with you. There’s no wifi option; only local lan.

For what it’s worth Harvest Moon is probably the best of the non-games games. In terms of pure fun and replay Harvest Moon top notch. I just received my copy and am loving it. I say go for it.
