I went up to the bay area with Lolvegan for his friends’ wedding. The food was good and the open bar featured watermelon kisses, a cocktail that combined three of my favorite things: watermelon, mint, and vodka. It took one or two sips to get used to the taste, but after that, it’s pretty damn refreshing. The only way that drink could get any better is if it was also a miracle fat-burner or cured cancer.
I was kind of bored at the reception, not really knowing many people there, but luckily, the DS was around to save me. After the food was cleared away, I noticed the familiar white rectangle a few tables from us. Some people were huddled around playing TetrisDS. I whipped out my DS and joined them, for a “first one to five wins” game. The games were pretty close, but I ended up winning by one.
I also had a chance to play against some guy Lolvegan worked with in the past. It was the first time Lolvegan actually cheered for my winning! I knew all those games of Tetris at the office would pay off one day.
On Sunday, while walking out of the Metreon, I discovered Beard Papa’s Cream Puffs. They advertised speciality cream puffs, filled with cream flavored with a variety of things such as green tea, milk tea, mocha. Unfortunately, the green tea cream puff wasn’t featured this week, so I ended up getting a milk tea cream puff instead. It was, as Coach would say, “Heaven on Earth.” The cream wasn’t overpoweringly sweet, and the pastry outside was properly fluffy. I just found out that Beard Papa’s is a chain and there’s one sort of on the way back from work, and one being built by my parents’ house. I don’t know if I’ll be able to resist the temptation.
