No a/c and 100 degree weather meant it was time for a movie: Superman Returns. I like super-hero movies and I liked the first two X-men movies Bryan Singer directed, so I wasn’t surprised that I liked Superman. Sure, the dialog was campy at some parts, and the action was over the top, but that’s what makes a Hollywood blockbuster, right? The actor they cast to play Superman did well in the role, but in some scenes, especially as Clark Kent, it looked like his make-up was caked on a little to thick. I don’t know if they were trying to go for the flaw-less look on him or what, but his skin looked too smooth and blemish-free. Other than that, I have no complaints. Kevin Spacey does such a good Lex Luther.
I wonder if the makers of this movie played Valkyrie Profile. The scene where Superman was hovering above Earth and listening to all the voices of people in distress, and then zooming down to save some lives reminded me of how Lenneth in Valkyrie Profile can hover above Earth and hear people minutes before they die.
