Dear Grrl-Gamers (Gurl gamerz, whatever),
Just shut up and play the damn game. No one cares that you’re a girl. I’m tired of reading how unfair it is to be a girl gamer and how the boys make fun of you for being a girl. I’m tired of reading things like this article. Why all this fist waving about being a girl gamer? Does there really need to be such a divide between genders in video games?
I feel like a lot of these grrl gamers sprung up over-night because they finally realize something: boys like video games and boys like girls who like video games. I have no problem with that and I welcome more girls into the video game world, but shut up already about “I’m a girl, but I want equal treatment. I’m a girl btw. Hey look I’m a girl. Don’t treat me differently.”
I’ve never really encountered that many patronizing remarks from boys regarding my video playing, and I’ve been playing for a very long time. Maybe I’ve been playing with a different group of people all my life, but whenever I play, no one cares about my gender. They treat me just like any other member of the team. Because of that, I feel no need to prove myself to them.
I guess I don’t understand why so many grrl gamers are so aggro about their gender. Does it even matter in cyberspace? Why can’t we just drop the GRRL part and just all be gamers?

well, know what equal treatment is about. most of them want special treatment, then if they dont get it, bitch about that they are not treated as equals. it’s a messed up world we live in
I wish there were more grrrrl amateur astronomers. Spending the entire night in a field with a bunch of hairy old guys is not that great.
