E3 2006
Thoughts on E3:
Valkyrie Profile 2 for Ps2 looks great and although it plays differently than the first one, the battle’s just as good. The non-battle, exploring mode is still in 2D, but the background and foreground is 3D.
Prey looks like it’s finally getting close to being released. I only got to play the multiplayer portion, and it’s more or less of the same FPS games except you walk on walls and ceilings. It was a bit disorienting at first. I played two rounds in their deathmatch tournament and got first place both times, yay. I even got in a few monkey-wrench kills. For playing in the tournament, they gave me a free prey t-shirt that actually fits me since it’s a woman’s shirt.
Children of Mana was a bit disappointing. I played 10 minutes of it and got bored.
Okami is even more beautiful in person. It plays smoothly, the art design is incredible, the dialogue is corny and sucks, but god, it’s amazing to look at. One of the best looking PS2 games ever. I’ll definitely buy this one.
I played through about 4-5 quests in Tabula Rasa with an in-game guide who was playing from Texas. I’m glad I got the guided playthrough of the game. It was confusing at first, but I started really getting into it. I thought it was just an MMORPG like WoW at first, but it’s more like WoW meets Half-Life 2 — an MMO FPS. Plays great, weapons are fun, I’m just sad there’s no Linux version =(
Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb are even more abhorable in person, if that’s possible. I saw them filming X-play in the main lobby of the convention center. Yes, Adam really is that annoying. No, Morgan’s not hot at all.
I don’t think I want to watch Peter Moore git jiggy with it ever again.

Too bad about Children of Mana, though.
