Delete-a-holic?
I might have a little problem with deleting things. I think it’s perfectly normal to schedule special “deleting nights” weekly so that I can purge my computer of unwanted files and delete to my heart’s content. However, I think maybe that was just a gateway to more uncontrolled deleting.
For example, deleting my entire hard drive and starting anew. While ultimately, it was a good change, I had still done it on impulse. Sometimes I feel guilty about impulsive things because I later wonder if maybe I should have thought them through longer. Oh hell, deleting the hard drive felt damn good.
But my latest deletion doesn’t feel as good. In a fit of “Oh yeah?! I’ll show you who’s boss!” I fdisked my iPod. I erased all of the partition tables — yes even the one that contained the apple firmware. Originally, I was just going to delete the linux partition on my iPod and reinstall a newer version, but something went awry, I got angry, and I got trigger happy with the partition tables.
I think I’ve bricked my iPod now because no amount of plugging and unplugging will mount the thing. I’ve tried it in Linux, Windows, even a Mac and none of them worked.
