Tales from the dead

I’m not dead, but I’m fairly certain my social life is.

After the Circuit Shitty fiasco, I drove to Best Buy the day after to pick up the drums for the delicious price of $16 after taxes. Take that, $50 drums at Circuit Shitty! Shortly after playing the Taiko Drum (US) game that came with the drums, I downloaded the Japanese and Anime versions. While I like some of the classical songs in the US version (1812 overture, Beethoven’s 5th, Mozart, etc.) the modern songs on the US disc are difficult drum to. My favorite so far is the Japanese mix, even though I don’t understand half of what’s going on in that game.

A couple days after that, my video game luck continued and I found a copy of Gitaroo Man at EB Games! I had gone into the store to look for an extra dreamcast controller and spotted it on my way to the cash register on top of a pile of other used PS2 games. I couldn’t believe it was just sitting there and no one had picked it up. I was ecstatic that I didn’t have to pay the ridiculous $70 price on ebay just to play that game.

Besides Gitaroo Man and Taiko Drum Master, I’ve been playing so many other games at home, sometimes I wonder if I should take a day off from work just so I can get “caught up” with the queue of games I still have to play.
