I couldn’t stand playing the game the third day after I got it. The gameplay was just getting too repetitive for me. Each part of the map was essentially some flavor of “shoot N amount of monsters, active N switches, proceed to next area.” I hear there are vehicles to drive in the game, but unfortunately, I never got far enough to encounter these vehicles, unless they count a horse as one of those vehicles.
The only good thing I can mention about the game is that the controls are great. Movement, shooting, and melee attacks are incredibly responsive and it makes moving through the game effortless. Too bad nothing in the game utilizes it.
The blurb on my GameFly sleeve says something about “unique weapons” in the game, which is a lie. The only weapons I encountered in the game were six-shooters, carbines, shotguns, and crossbows. Unique? Maybe if you were living under a rock for the past 200 years.
