I purchased from modchipstore.com, a PSTwo Slim Line Flip Top Cover V12 + Swap Magic 3.6. While the reviews and other articles I read about it said it was easy to install, I had a hell of a time getting it to work.

First, the box came with no instructions at all. It did, however, come with a piece of paper that said to look up installation instructions from the site, which I did. The installation instructions, was probably written by a 2nd grade student in China just started to learn English. While not impossible to understand, they were a bit difficult to follow especially with the addition of small pictures.

When I put my ps2 together after installing the cover, the console would no longer spin any discs. Even though the top was down and closed, the PS2 still believed it was open. I fiddled with it for a couple of hours, trying to figure out what went wrong. The retailer’s site was no help and other sites only told me that the ps2 still thinks the top is up, which was not much help. Thanks to advice from a co-worker and this site I was able to fix the problem: one of the sensors wasn’t being properly blocked out. Nothing a little tape wouldn’t fix.

So now, my ps2 is back to normal. It reads regular games and the Swap Magic boots up. I haven’t tried any backup games yet, but hopefully, that’s all fine and dandy also. *crosses fingers*

So can you throw me a bone?
