Once again, the ninja-quick reflexes I gained from years of video games saves the day. +42 agility anyone?
On my way to work this morning, I nearly ran into a minivan which tried to cross at the intersection of the large boulevard I was driving on. I had the right of way since there was no signal or stop sign at that intersection for people on the large street, but there were stop signs for people driving on the small street.
Since I was driving so fast and I was about half a block from the van when it decided to try to slowly creep into the intersection, I had no time to stop. I thought it was inevitable that I would hit the car.
But before I knew it, I swerved my car to the left, even though I was already on the left-most lane, to avoid hitting the van. Unfortunately, I had swerved right into oncoming traffic. I then swerved back to the right, narrowly missing the minivan who was still blocking all traffic on my side of the street. My car drifted right, I tried to straightened it out, it fish tailed a bit, and then it straightened out and I was on my way.
All this happened in less than five seconds and I didn’t realize how narrowly I escaped from a car accident until half a block later, I hear a car earnestly honking their horn behind me. I slowed down and let the car pull up next to me. It was a convertible and in it was a huge guy.
The guy said, “Look, I just saw that and I just wanted to say, ‘Girl! You know how to drive that car! That was some awesome handling back there. I’m glad you’re okay!”
When I went through the whole scene again on the rest of the way to work, I realized how lucky I was.

whew! I’m glad you’re okay, too.
HOLY CRAP! I’m glad you’re fine! That is one adventure you won’t ever forget!
