I just finished listening to Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, the 6th installment of the HP books. I would have read the book, but since I can’t exactly open a book and read at work, I got the audio book instead and put it onto my iPod.

The audiobook was incredible! The whole thing was performed by Jim Dale; he did every single voice in the book and each voice was so unique that I had trouble believing it all came from one person. The way he does Dumbledore and Hermoine’s voice is unforgettable, especially the way he makes Hermoine say, “Oh, Harreeeeee!” I hope every audiobook I get after this one is performed by Jim Dale.

As for the actual book and story, I don’t want to give any spoilers, but I liked this one better than the previous book. It’s definitely a lot darker, but also a lot less angsty, which was my prime complaint about book 5. Things were a bit slow in the beginning, but picked up speed and I felt like I had been on a rollercoaster after I was done with the book.

One semi-spoiler though: this book’s ending is about as happy as the last book’s.
