Did anyone catch this on TV? Even though I had a reminder set on my computer to watch it, I missed it. Just as well anyway, since now I can just download a torrent of it and not have o deal with the MTV commercials that are sure to be everywhere.

Unfortunately, not having to watch the commercials doesn’t make the 30-minute special any better. It seems like Xbox and PSP have the same PR people who are too caught up on “coolness” factor. The whole unveiling scene made me throw up a little bit because I wasn’t used to so much cool. For those who have not watched it yet, it was some blonde chick carrying the Xbox 360 in a messenger bag, walking down a catwalk to a raised platform with a podium. She dramatically took out the console and placed it on the podium, pressed the power button, and then, it was as if a rave magically appeared. There were so many lights and lasers that I automatically wished I had a pacifier.

For people who haven’t seen the special, don’t. You’re better off reading the new specs off a gaming website. At least that way you don’t have to sit through half an hour of trendy lameness.
