My New Day Job

I finally got to do real work on day 2 at my new job. Day 1, yesterday, was spent filling out tons of paper work, going around the office, and being introduced to every single person there. They really want new people to feel at home there, I think. I lost count of how many times people said, “Welcome to Price Grabber!” to me yesterday.

I knew I chose the right place to work at yesterday when I discovered that 1.) we have a free soda fountain, tea machine, and espresso machine, and 2.) at least five people in the office have Hidamari no Tami at their desk, and 3.) free snacks!

That sounds excellent. I hope you really enjoy working there. My first day at Earthlink is going to fall out like this:

Arrive at work, spend 4 hours in orientation, board a plane to Pasadena, CA to attend a week of meetings with Marketing about a product they want my group to develop.

I’m getting tossed in the deep end. But that kind of energy and pace is a welcome relief after the past several months of “one step forward two steps back” at MCI.

Ah that sounds wonderful *tears up*
I can’t wait to get a job with my “peers” that love Nohohons rather than the current 50 year olds that think I play with “toys.”
